The Promise of Easter

Easter is one of the most special public holidays of the year. Of course there is a special significance for Christians but there is also something in the air for everyone.

As the mornings and evenings grow lighter and as the last of the winter frosts disappear, there is a great feeling of new beginnings. The first trees are in blossom and the others have green buds. The grass is starting to grow faster than even the most avid gardener can mow it.

This is great time of the year to look back at those New Year resolutions, to review progress and to take any corrective action needed.

Some people have a keen awareness of the way that the seasons can affect our feelings and attitudes. The chances are that you made those January resolutions in the midst of a cold, grey and wet winter. That probably made your emotions and optimism pretty cold, grey and wet too.”

But, when the natural world is bursting with the promise of a glorious spring and the warmth of summer, this is an ideal time to decide that you too will start over and put right anything that you feel needs correction in your own life.”

Unless humans interfere with nature, it has its own graceful balance. The old and used makes way for the new and the vibrant. Anyone can do the same with their own thoughts and attitudes. Perhaps those fondly held beliefs that served you well in the past are due for an overhaul. Perhaps it is time to restore your own natural balance.

Balance means harmony rather than discord. This should include a brief but thorough examination of all the areas of your life – relationships, career, health, finances, leisure and talents.

An example of discord - There was a man who was a success by most material measures. Despite his large house, ample income and luxury car, he was an unhappy person. He had spent so much energy building his business that he had no time left for all those other aspects of his life. He decided to take action with the help of a Life Coach as the coaching sessions progressed he began to work on restoring the balance. Within weeks he had found happiness too and without putting any of his material gains at risk either.”

It  would have to be a very cold individual indeed to totally ignore the promise of Easter. So take some of that promise for yourself and then make sure it is a promise that is delivered. You deserve nothing less.

How To Put Awesome Power Into Your Life

HOW TO PUT AWESOME POWER INTO YOUR LIFE.
Achievers are believers: they believe in themselves and in life.

"If you can believe, all things are possible to those who believe."
- Mark 9:23

Achievers are great dreamers (but not "airy-fairey stuff").
What dreams in life would you have, if you knew you could
not possibly fail?

What particular dream would make you happiest in fulfilling?

Firstly, Have total faith: in yourself and especially in God - a
Higher Power, Supreme Being, Who cares deeply about you
and really BELIEVE God, Life, Your Creator will ultimately
ensure the outcome that's best for you (even when things
look bleak. .

Here are Fifteen Principles, to help get you through
unchartered waters,
no more sliding down the "razor-blade of life".

1. Discover the Awesome Power of a Dream.
A vision for the future, that will capture your entire heart
and at the deepest level, your spirit and soul (are they the
same thing, by the way?). Open your mind up to the awesome power of
your creative imagination (the way "God "speaks" to us,
through our subconscious minds, our "Godgate" or "receiving
station from Superior/Infinite Intelligence", I believe).

Allow yourself the courage and freedom to even fantasise
until you get a vision, a dream of what your life could one
day stand for. Meditate deeply, pray, ask God, The Great
Designer, what is your unique "calling in life", your
purpose... and you WILL eventually get the answer... from
the "still quiet voice within" (or your Higher Self).

Where do you find the vision? You could perhaps find it by
looking for people who have hurts and human needs - as per
the secret of success in business is finding a need and
filling it. So find a human problem to solve through the
awesome power of a vision. God will bless you, so that you
in turn can bless others, through sharing your unique gifts.
That way you are helping people, touching other lives and
making a difference in the world. I try to do that through
my words.

2. Your dream must be backed by ACTION.

Achievers are dreamers and DOERS. Take small steps and
you'll find that one step leads to another, then the next.
"Rome wasn't built in a day."

3. Develop a 'God Consciousness'

TRUST, really trust God, the Spirit of the Universe for
the successful outcome to your endeavours. It WILL happen,
though not in your time-frame and according exactly to your
expectations. But always remember, God's dreams are far
bigger than we could ever imagine ourselves.

4. DEVELOP YOUR DESIRE to see the dream come to fruition.
Work on your motivation daily. Allow your Dream to be
at the fore-front of your life, the "core of your being".
It will motivate, inspire and energise you by giving you a
SENSE OF PURPOSE - essential. Only YOU have the power
to kill your dream. Nothing is impossible to the person, whose
vision becomes a dream and when that dream is allowed to
take control over your life. Like an obsession... but strive
for balance (heed that one, Craig).

5. Develop a Success Consciousness, that you will achieve
your dream one day.
It's a positive pattern of thinking, a great attitude/mind-set
to have, which will propel you down the road to success.
Think abundance and prosperity and not lack.... and you
will draw it to yourself from the Universe.

6. Don't surrender to negative assumptions.
Eg."I'm too old, a woman, have no money, no resources,
no contacts". Challenge them. Nothing is impossible to the
person who has the desire to succeed. As the proverb says,
" where there's a will, there's a way".

7. KNOW that there is a God, a Supreme Being

KNOW that there is a God, a Supreme Being (call
Him/Her/It what you will) and that there is is a unique plan
for your life. Listen to God, Spirit, The Ultimate Source
(my favourite term to understand the concept commonly known
as God), or Ground of our Being and it's just up to YOU to
discover it, then declare it - to the world, should you
want. It's your grand purpose in life and God will help you
to fulfil it (as a "co-creator of and collaborator in the
vision"). When you give 100% commitment and fully TRUST,
God will see to it, that your CHOSEN dream comes to pass.
You would never be "given a great dream" through your
IMAGINATION without your having the potential to achieve it.

8. Have a dynamic positive attitude to life.

CHOOSE it. That things will somehow work out for you.
Be flexible in your thinking. Attitude determines your
altitude and more than anything else, I believe, is a vitally
important ingredient in seeing your dreams come to fruition.

9. Really BELIEVE that things will work out for you.
Believe in yourself with honesty and humility....and not
arrogance. It's not being "big-headed" saying things, like
"I am unique, somebody special, I KNOW I can (make a
difference, some impact in this amazing and beautiful world
of ours, etc")!
Doing this demands having a healthy self concept (image).

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM?
DECIDE IT, DECLARE IT, SHARE IT

Then be happy as you travel along the journey of life,
the stair-case to your great dreams...

"When faced with a mountain, I will not quit
I'll keep on striving until I climb over,
Find a path through, tunnel underneath,
Or simply stay and turn my mountain into a gold mine.
I will not quit."

- Rev Robert Schuller, a great inspiration and "mentor" to
me in following my personal dream, what I believe to be my
"calling", my destiny in life.

P.S: Always remember, God's dreams are far bigger than
we could ever imagine ourselves.

Lord, broaden my horizons for all the rich promises you have
in store for me.

Principles That Can Change Your Destiny

There are no limitations to the mind except those we acknowledge.
Both Poverty & Riches are the offspring of thought.
Maintain a spirit of open-mindedness, and remember these principles have worked for many individuals. You can put them to work for your own enduring benefit.

You will find it easy, not hard, to do.

Desire is the starting point of all achievement, the first step towards riches.

Wishing will not bring riches. But desiring riches with a state of mind that becomes an obsession, then planning definite ways and means to acquire riches, and backing those plans with persistence which does not recognize failure, will bring riches.
Five Ways to Turn Desire into Gold
The method by which desire for riches can be transmuted into its financial equivalent, consists of five definite practical steps, viz:

First: Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire. It is not sufficient merely to say "I want of money." Be definite as to the amount. (there is a psychological reason for definiteness which will be described in subsequent pages.)

Second: Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire. (There is no such reality as "something for nothing.")

Third: Establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you desire.

Fourth: Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.

Fifth: Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. As you read, see and feel and believe yourself already in possession of the money.

It is important that you follow the instructions described in these five steps. It is especially important
that you observe and follow the instructions of the fifth point.  You may complain that it is impossible for you to "see yourself in possession of money" before you actually have it. Here is where a burning desire will come to your aid. If you truly desire money so keenly that your desire is an obsession you will have no difficulty in convincing yourself that you will acquire it. The object is to want to become so determined to have it that you convince yourself you will have it.

To the uninitiated, who has not been schooled in the working principles of the human mind, these instructions may appear impractical. It may be helpful, to all who fail to recognize the soundness of the
five steps, to know that the information they convey was received from Andrew Carnegie who began as an ordinary laborer in the steel mills but managed, despite his humble beginnings to make these principles yield him a fortune of considerably more than one hundred million dollars.

It may be of further help to know that the five steps here recommended were carefully scrutinized by the late Thomas A. Edison, who placed his stamp of approval upon them as being, not only the steps essential for the accumulation of money, but for the attainment of any goal.

The steps call for no "hard labor"  They call for no sacrifice.  They do not require one to become ridiculous,  or credulous.  To apply them calls for no great amount of education.  But the successful
application of these five steps does call for sufficient imagination to enable one to see, and to understand, that accumulation of money cannot be left to chance good fortune, and luck. One must
realize that all who have accumulated great fortunes first did a certain amount of dreaming, hoping, wishing, desiring and planning before they acquired money.

Free Will Or Destiny? What Guides Your Life?

Are you the master of your own fate, or are you a slave to fate? That's been a question man has been asking himself since he first became cognizant of his own existence. Why does it have to be one or the other? Couldn't both co-exist?

Destiny

It can be very difficult-- especially for a spiritual person-- to accept that life, the universe and everything are just the results of a gazillion years of random, meaningless occurrences.
Many of us have had experiences that are all too meaningful to think they were not contrived. Tell a person who got a bad feeling and changed his flight that it was just a coincidence he was not on the plane that burned and crashed.
Tell the mother who dreamed of the birth of her child before it happened that she was just dreaming. If you havee ever had a good psychic reading that foretold you of events to come, you’ll find it impossible to believe in the idea that everything that happens is an accident, that it’s all coincidence and not contrived. How can this possibly be, if nothing is determined?

Free Will

At the same time, it’s easy to understand why some people believe in free will. Think about how much our choices—any actions (or no actions)—guide our lives. Most of the time, we can trace things that happen to us back to a choice we made at some point.
If there were no free will, there would be no point in ever trying, would there? We could just sit back and let the chips fall where they may; and we would not have to take any personal responsibility for any outcomes. But the fact is, people who are responsible and smart, who plan well for their goals and their future, will usually succeed at most things.
People who blow off responsibilities, who don’t make smart choices, will usually end up suffering for their mistakes. We can’t deny that we have a hand in how things turn out from us.

How the Work Together

Everyone does have a destiny. We’re all born for a purpose, and there are lessons and experiences we are meant to have in this lifetime. However, we also have the right and the responsibility of choice—we get to decide if we are going to do things to pursue our destiny, or move further away from it.
Yes, you can create your own destiny. Let’s face it; life can be hard, and some of us are here to learn some hard lessons, or do some difficult things. You can certainly opt out—you can take an easy road (or at least a road that seems easier at the time). You can even change your destiny with your free will.

The Strength of Persistence

Persistence plays a critical role in the quest for wisdom, achievement, success, fulfillment and self-confidence. Most of the eventualities we long for require our focused, vigilant attention, not to mention ingenuity, patience, flexibility and be able to stick-to-it.
Persistence involves setting a goal, committing to a course of action, making the necessary sacrifices, overcoming obstacles, setbacks and criticism – all the while maintaining your motivation, energy and faith in yourself.

It requires adaptability in a variety of situations as well as reviewing and altering expectations. Persistence keeps you on a trail of possibilities that sustains you when you hit a wall with one course of action. It enables you to re-energize yourself so that you can continue to explore creative options.

The words of President Calvin Coolidge tell us of the unique importance of this strength: "Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."

What is so elusive about persistence? What makes it so difficult to learn and convert into habit? This is a haunting question for anyone who, in good faith, made a New Year’s resolution and blew past it by January 3rd. How does procrastination become a way of life, often resulting in self-loathing?

If persistence eludes you and you have labeled yourself lazy, a procrastinator, one of life losers, you may want to rethink your conclusions so you can effectively develop the goals and habits that bring them to fruition. You can resign from the “I could not change a habit if my life depended on it” club. Since this club has many, many members, you certainly won’t be missed if you choose another path!

If persistence eludes you and you have labeled yourself lazy, a procrastinator, one of life losers, you may want to rethink your conclusions so you can effectively develop the goals and habits that bring them to fruition. Procrastination is the enemy of persistence and the thief of your precious time. Too many people spend too much time trying to understand why they’re in this trap when it would be so much more productive to determine what needs to be modified and what factors play a continuing role in supporting this ineffectual pattern of thinking and behavior.
